NEW This Year: High School After School Program!

Founded in 1992, the Seashore Family Literacy Center is a non-profit organization located in Waldport, OR.  The Center promotes literacy and education through numerous programs, including youth and adult tutoring, parenting classes, summer camps, and free meals.  The Center is volunteer driven and all programs are provided to participants at no cost.

Seashore Family Literacy is dedicated to helping families, children, and adults improve reading, writing, spelling, and affectively using computers and other technological tools that further this purpose.

The Seashore Family Literacy Center is thankful for the many individuals and businesses who provide the financial support that helps us create a learning and loving environment in which to foster strong youth, families, and community.

A note from the director:

"We've come a long way!  When I started the Seashore Family Literacy Center in 1992, I carted stacks of books in the back seat of my car and scrambled to find places to hold our programs.  Fifteen years later, the center is packed with energetic, educational programs at a permanent site.  Today, we serve thousands of youth and adults with after school activities, preschool playgroups, a free bicycle program, tutoring, numerous summer camps, creative writing groups and a commercial kitchen that provides endless snacks and meals."
